This work, made specifically for the exhibition Soy de Tejas, represents the symbols and materials found in the South Texas region. Esparza used chicken wire fencing as a tapestry material and embellished it with vintage rosaries to reference the folk healing rituals and sites she remembers from her childhood. These sites include the Arbol Milagroso near Falfurrias, TX and the gravesite of Don Pedro Jaramillo in Brooks County, TX, both are areas where her family has resided for generations.
